KEY POLICIES

Intake Policy:
The PCHuS was designed to house 20 dogs and 20 cats in a healthy, safe manner. Because 20-40 homeless animals are found weekly in PC (~1000 to 2000/yr), the PCHuS must screen the animals we take in, to ensure we are saving the most animals we can, those that will be adopted by the citizens of PC. One non-adoptable animal housed at the HuS for 1 year = 12 to 24 adoptable animals that we could otherwise save over a year. Thus, we have formal intake screening, performed by the Executive Director, to ensure that we intake animals that the citizens of PC will adopt. The PCHuS strives to adopt out only healthy, non-aggressive pets ! We strive to adopt out 200-400 animals/year, as funding permits. We would love to save them all, but we can't.

Housing Policy:
After an animal has been at the PCHuS for 90 days,
1. All adoption fees will be waived, only a donation will be requested.
2. The animal will be taken to PCHuS Adopt-A-Pets and will get more advertising.
3. Other HUS or rescue groups may be called for potential placement, and
4. Other humane options deemed appropriate by the Executive Director for placement.
No PCHuS animals will be taken to Ponca City Animal Control.
